Fifty bucks a pop

Yesterday I went bridal dress shopping with a friend with hopes that a third, gay friend along for the ride would try on dresses.

He had expressed an interest in doing so but in the end wimped out. I attempted to bribe him with ever-increasing offers but it was to no avail.

Damn queen.

But there was still an interesting side note to the proceedings. My friend who is getting married is Catholic. Her fiancee has been married twice before. He can get married in the Catholic church because neither one of his previous marriages was in a Catholic church.

However, the priest they met with said he would charge an additional fifty dollars because the guy has been married before. Then my friend elaborated and said that in fact her fiancee has been married twice before.

"Then that'll be another fifty dollars," the priest said.

Just when you think that a few things might possibly remain sacred you find out that, in the end, everything has a price.
