Schizophrenic Weather Day

Yesterday it was hot in the morning, cold in the afternoon, and rainy at night.

It was a schizophrenic day of weather if ever there was one.

And there was my day itself. The first part of it was spent in a high school with a bunch of teenagers. There was a line in a piece a kid wrote that I found while correcting that went as follows: 'Personas pueden correr pictures de porn.'

The piece was about Face Book. Two corrected vocabulary words later the line translated to, 'People can download porn.'

There was my trip to the attendance office. A scary woman works there. Her job, as far as I can tell, consists of collecting attendance folders and administering standardized tests. However she never manages to execute either task in a voice lower than a shout.

She yelled at me, and I do mean yelled, because I put last week's attendance in the wrong folder.

By nightfall I was in a lower east side hot spot pitching ideas to a friend amidst a sea of shmoozing hipsters.

Soon it will be winter. The weather will get cold and stay that way for months.

For the time being, however, the back and forth isn't so bad.
